The old jail, now a history museum.
Arthur Jordan was lynched Jan 19th 1890. He had run off with the daughter of his white employer and they eventually got married. The employer had him arrested in Washington DC and returned to Warrenton on bigamy charges (he was said to have been married to, and had a family with another woman).
A group or armed men dragged him from the county jail in Warrenton and dragged him to the edge of the town cemetery where he was lynched.
