National Guard and US Army troops are billeted in the US Capitol in preparation for Joe Biden's inauguration on the 20th January 2021.<br />

This follows the bloody insurrection on the 6th of January, in which 5 people died when violent pro-Trump demonstrators breached The Capitol in an attempt to stop the Electoral College formalizing the victory of Joe Biden over Donald Trump.

The Wounaan were forced to flee their ancestral lands after Colombian leftist guerillas, the FARC murdered two Wounaan community leaders for resisting FARC efforts to control their tribe and recruit their youth. Of a population of 1,748, more than 700 have fled. <br />
Many of the children are suffering the worst, sick with diarrhoea, TB, and skin lesions.<br />
Since arriving in Istmina, they have crammed into abandoned houses with no running water.<br />
Following 40 years of civil war, Colombia has the world's third highest displaced population due to conflict. A displacement described by the UN as one of the largest since the Second World War.

Melanie Pace, an Orlando-based fashion stylist and blogger was an avid fitness freak and got  rhabdomyolysis, or rhabdo, an uncommon side effect of working out that leads to the breakdown of body tissue from which can result to renal failure.<br />
Pace is much better now and keeps fit through yoga. Working out almost killed her.

  • Annie-Pearl Avery, 71, was a young civil rights activist who was brutally beaten and arrested for trying to cross the Edmund Pettus Bridge which crosses the Alabama river in Selma and march to Montgomery. Originally from Birmingham Alabama, she now lives in Selma.<br />
<br />
In March 1965 a Civil Rights march was held, from Selma Alabama to the state capital of Montgomery to demand the right to vote. Systematic local police violence against the marchers, forced US president Johnson to send in federal troops to protect the demonstrators right to march and eventually vote.

However, as the US economy is suffering a serious recession these health services are increasingly becoming necessary at home. Now RAM provides 60% of its services in the US for the estimated 47 million Americans without health insurance..Over the weekend at Soft Shell in the mountains of eastern Kentucky, (in the nation's congressional district with the lowest life expectation) RAM serviced some 700 needy people. 95% of whom were provided with dental care or optical care.

At a vigil to commemorate the death of 18 year old VonDerrit Myers Jr. at the hands of an armed security guard, an dispute breaks out between two groups at the street intersection.<br />
At least four shooters are involved in a violent 2 minute shoot out which saw at least 58 bullets fired. Participants dive for cover and flee.<br />
Once it is over, one man lies injured, others are sped away in vehicles or run off. Blood and shell casings litter the street, and as the police secure the crime scene, the pastor calls the people to gather around and continue the vigil to honor the dead teenager. Another day of urban violence in the USA.
